Society for Range Management Annual Meeting- Sparks, NV

WLC was honored to co-host the symposium “Co-Laboring in the West: Balancing the Art, Science, and ROI of Grazing Management”. This three-part symposium featured rancher and partner stories of rangeland conservation and the building of stewardship economies. Both of our main projects, the Three Creeks Grazing Project and the New Mexico Rangeland Enhancement Project, were featured in a Q and A with our project partners and producers!

Society For Range Management Annual Meeting- Boise, ID

We were honored to co-organize and co-host a day-long, 3-part symposium at the 2023 Society for Range Management Annual Meeting in Boise, ID titled, “Beyond Meat – Livestock, soil carbon and ecosystem service markets in the U.S. West: generating complementary funding for rangeland and rural community stewardship?” We explored a range of examples and models for natural resource management, conservation, and financing that value landscape functionality for agriculture commodity productions and a full suite of ecosystem services derived from rangelands. The symposium included speakers from ranchers, non-profit and other non-governmental organizations, for-profit consulting firms, state agencies, and academic researchers. It was a wild success with many laughs, thought-provoking questions, controversial ideas, and a variety of perspectives.
