Updates from the field
September was our last month of veg sampling for the summer, and you could feel the weather turning. We were greeted with early morning frost at our sites and fall colors in the sagebrush.
We were also greeted by antelope, who are highly active this time of year. We saw large groups moving across the range, as well as curious individuals checking out what we were up to.
We also rounded out the season with some amazing nature moments… meet the spider who was crawling up my arm (yes, she was as big as she looks in this picture!), and a mom and baby horse that graze close to our field sites (these are not wild horses, they are owned by a local rancher).
